- WATER REPAIRS
A contractor is working to make necessary repairs and changes to the main waterline near Cammies Brook. The water should be back on by midnight, Thursday, October 12, 2023 Sorry for this inconvenience.
- Boil Order Lifted
Residents of the communities of Halfway Point, Benoit's Cove and John's Beach are advised the boil order is now lifted, effective October 5, 2023.

- Memory benches
The town will be placing memory benches in several designated areas throughout the town in memory of loved ones. If you or a family would like to pay for a bench to be set up, please contact the office at 709 789-2981 or townofhumberarmsouth@eastlink.ca The cost is $380.00, the bench base will be galvanized steel with composite wood and will be placed on a cement base. These are the locations selected for benches to be placed: Playground - Halfway Point Community Garden - Park Drive Entrance on Hillview Road Playground on Hillview Road Serenity Path on Hillview Road Lookout area of Forestry Road. To celebrate 50 years as a town we put together a newspaper from 1972! Every resident should have received a copy in their mailbox during Come Home Year week. Here is a digital copy in case you did not receive one or you are not a resident of the town. Thanks for celebrating Come Home Year 2022 with us! Happy 50 years!

- Friday update
Town office will be closed, Monday, July 11 in observance of Orangeman's Day. Garbage will still picked up at Monday as usual. Dirt bikes are destroying the walking trails on Cammies Brook trail, Park Drive and Lookout trail. Please advise any person who is driving dirt bikes to stay away from the walking trails. Residents are advised to remove all personal belonging and toys from playgrounds in the town.
- CLARKES BROOK PUMP TRACK AREA
Construction has started in the Clarkes Brook Pit area, the ground work is completed. We request everyone to refrain from using this area as further work is scheduled in the near future. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
- 50+Club
The 50+ Club is hosting an "Open House Drop-In Time" for residents and former residents age 50+. This is an informal time providing an opportunity for social connection. Come and start up a game of cards with friends, play a board game or come for a chat and snack. Come and find out more about the 50+ Club. Stay as long or as little as you want. Where: Community Hall When: Thursday, May 26th at 7pm Hope to see you there!

- Clinic for Covid Vaccinations
Please be advised there is a change in the date for covid vaccinations at community hall at Benoit's Cove. The new date is June 22, 2022 from 9 am to 4 pm.
- Families participating in community roadside cleanup
Jesse and Kaci Kennedy along with their grandparents Maureen and Roger Parsons picking up roadside litter and garbage from the beautiful beach in John's Beach to Bayview Club. Kathleen Ledrew completed Russell's Road to end of Hillview Road. Justin Brake and his daughter completed Gulf Drive to Wildwood Road. Roxanne Revalls is completing Halfway Point sign to main Crockers Road. Lisa Thomas completed Crockers Road to the top of the hill. Sabrina Kean will be completing from Graveyard Road to top of the hill on Route 450. Join in the clean up and submit your names for one of the six gifts valued $50.00. Please call 789-2981 to register for a section, there are several areas still needing to be picked up. Thank you on behalf of all residents, an environmental clean town is beautiful.
- Community Garden
It's that time of year, when the gardeners are ready to plants their seeds. If you plan to plant in the boxes you had last year, can you please advise the town office at 789-2981 or 789-3203. To keep the boxes you had previous, payment must be made by May 31, 2022. The cost of the boxes are $10.00 each. It is wonderful to see so many people enjoying the community garden, it is a great place to have a chat, gain gardening tips and socializing.
- Age Friendly Community Survey
An Advisory Committee has been formed with representatives from the Town, the 50+ Club, the Recreation Committee, the Benoit’s Cove Native Women’s Association, the Benoit’s Cove Indian Band, senior caregivers and senior community representatives. The purpose of this Committee is to provide the Town Council with recommendations on policies, services and structures aimed at making the Town of Humber Arm South a more age-friendly community, designed to support and enable older residents to live in a secure environment, enjoy good health and continue to participate fully in the community. We look forward to your involvement and support to make this town an even better place for our residents to age in their own home and community. Please hand in the following survey to the town office by May 15, 2022.
